Facility Rules
Conduct detrimental to the public interest or abuse of the building and grounds under any circumstances is expressly prohibited. The building, grounds, equipment and restrooms shall be left in a clean, orderly condition. Failure to do so may result in fees (as determined by the Owners) being assessed. No smoking is allowed in any building and no alcoholic beverages are permitted on the grounds.

Weather Considerations
The highest emphasis of safety will be placed on participants and staff. When there is lightning in the area, all outside activity will be suspended until the threatening weather leaves the area.  Thank you for your understanding of our efforts to put safety first.

Challenges:
Sea – A new ocean passage is needed for reconnaissance submarines near the equator. A time saving shortcut has been located, but the concern of having a manned vessel damaged in the tight passage is high. Therefore, an unmanned submersible is being sent out to map the deep and difficult underwater passage for the larger manned vessels. It will also take samples of the ocean floor for further understanding of the area including possible shifts in the terrain. The submersible’s mission will be to visually confirm the terrain and any solid outcroppings that might cause difficult maneuvering for larger vessels. It will also take the ocean floor samples and return them to the surface ship.

Air – An explosion has occurred in a downtown metropolitan area. There is a concern that the explosion may have released radioactive elements into the air, jeopardizing the health and safety of all citizens in the surrounding area. In order to safely determine whether or not the explosion is a radioactive threat, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with radiation detection capabilities is being sent to the scene. With cameras, sensors and automated image processing, the UAV will fly over the region and determine if any radiative matter is present. A live relay of this information will be sent to the first responders, allowing them to remain protected at a safe distance until the best method of response is determined. In addition, the UAV will be able to drop markers on “hot spots” to indicate a radiation danger zone and serve as a warning to the ground crews.

Land – A tornado has touched down in the city’s central park and has uprooted trees and scattered debris. Among the high-rise buildings surrounding the park, is a hospital, and many individuals trapped within this building require critical supplies to stay alive. Most of buildings, including the hospital, and the roads to the buildings are deemed unsafe because of structural damage and uprooted trees. Ground robots are becoming increasingly more sophisticated and utilized in different types of applications including emergency situations. Your robot and team must be the critical link to deliver supplies to the trapped people and remove debris and obstacles that are preventing rescue personnel from safely entering the area.
